I want to take a moment to share my story—a story of redemption, hope, and the unshakable grace of Jesus Christ.
I grew up in a middle-class family in California. I had loving parents who provided everything I needed, yet deep inside, something was missing. There was a hole in my heart I couldn’t fill, no matter how hard I searched.
As a teenager, I started looking for fulfillment in all the wrong places. I chased excitement and escaped in ways I thought would bring me peace. I believed I’d found the answer, but over time, I realized I was only creating a deeper void in my life. I became restless, drifting from one thing to another in search of satisfaction that never lasted. My choices strained relationships with my family and pushed me further from the purpose God had for me.
Everything changed when I learned I was going to become a father. The thought of someone depending on me shook me to my core. I knew I needed to make a change. I wanted to be the kind of man my child could look up to, but the journey wasn’t easy. I kept trying to fix things on my own, only to come up short. My struggles left me exhausted, both physically and spiritually.
Then, one day, I found myself sitting in a quiet moment of reflection. I was tired of running, tired of feeling empty. I remembered the faith my parents had taught me as a child and cried out to God. It was a simple prayer, but it changed everything. In that moment, I felt the weight of the world lift off my shoulders. It was as though the grace of Jesus Christ embraced me, filling the emptiness I had carried for so long. I realized the missing piece in my life was Him all along.
By His grace, my life is now unrecognizable from what it once was. I have a renewed purpose and a heart for serving others. I’ve been blessed with a restored relationship with my parents and a beautiful bond with my daughter. While her mother continues to face her own struggles, I lift her up in prayer daily, believing that God’s grace can reach her, too.
